Edwin’s passion for boxing ignited at the age of 6 when he witnessed his first match, sparking a relentless pursuit of the sport despite the absence of local gyms. Resorting to shadowboxing, home workouts, and backyard sparring with family and friends, he dreamt of a future in boxing amidst struggles with bullying throughout his school years. At 16, he persuaded his father to allow him to join a newly opened local boxing gym, kickstarting his journey as a boxer while also excelling in soccer during high school and college. Edwin's dedication led him to compete nationally and earn recognition in state rankings after his debut tournament, ultimately attracting the attention of notable trainers like Floyd Mayweather Sr. and Dewey Cooper. Despite his success in the ring, his greatest fulfillment comes from mentoring youth and individuals facing life's challenges, a passion that blossomed under the guidance of Derek, who revealed to him the profound joy of helping others.
